Sire is the term for the vampire who makes another vampire. How does it work? "To make you a vampire they have to suck your blood. And then you have to suck their blood. It's like a whole big sucking thing."

The person dies, but will rise again as a vampire. "A vampire isn't a person at all. It may have the movements, the, the memories, even the personality of the person that it took over, but i-it's still a demon at the core, there is no halfway."
The Pros of Vampirism

Immortality
- A vampire doesn't age and will never die unless it's killed.
- A vampire can also "live indefinitely" without feeding, as proved with Angel's undersea vacation.

Immunity
- To diseases, to bullets, to getting hurt easily.
- Angel can get shot multiple times and be okay.
- In Reprise, Angel dives off a building from the 15th story, lands smack on the ground, and gets up with only a little effort.

Speed
- Especially noticeable in the way Angel seems to be able to appear and disappear the moment you turn your head.

Strength

- Cutting out a vampire's heart will make the vampire invincible for a few hours, until he dies. i.e. James in Heartthrob.

Fears
- Touching any of these will burn them.
Crosses and crucifixes.
Holy water.
The Bible.
Garlic.

Limitations
- Can't go out in the sunlight.
- Can't go into a home unless invited. Public accomodations like hotels don't count.
- No reflection.
- No heartbeat.
- Can't have children. Unless it's some kind of miracle child.
- Can't taste food.

Fatal Blows
- Decapitation.
- Sunlight.
- Fire.
- Stake or something wooden through the heart.
- Drinking holy water.
